Tonight MHS honored top students of the 2023 graduating senior class with an Academic Honor Banquet. These students have worked hard in their academic career earning a 3.75 GPA or higher in 7 semesters.
To celebrate them, we had a catered meal including a special guest alumni, Ms. Jessica Jones, assistant superintendent of Mitchell Community Schools.
Special thanks to all who attended this special night honoring our students, Black Dog Deli and Catering for the delicious meal, Ms. Mason for the delicious cake, and Dr. Comer along with our juniors for graciously stepping up to serve.
Our students have a bright future. And, as Ms. Jones said in her speech tonight, "We all have a chance to be a leader, no matter our title". Go out and make positive changes to the world class of 2023!

The sculpture class went to Sculpture Trails in Solsberry Tuesday for a Pour and Tour field trip. They created an aluminum tile. They etched their design in a sand block and then the resident artist poured aluminum in the mold. It was exciting and fun for the students to see this type of art first hand and to bring home a their creations!

Mitchell High School would like to congratulate Mr. Kearns on his nomination for Ivy Tech's Dual Credit Teacher of the Year Award. Without teachers like Mr. Kearns going above and beyond in education, we would not be able to offer the Indiana College Core curriculum. Indiana College Core allows students to take college level courses and complete their first year general education courses in high school. Thank you for your dedication to our students Mr. Kearns! #MHSBluejackets #DedicatedTeachers
Dr. Kelly Kirk visited the Health Sciences students in Mrs. Myers classroom last week to tell them about being a veterinarian. It is nice for community partners to come in and talk about real world experiences. Building those connections is what makes learning fun and relatable. Thanks Dr. Kirk for your time! #bluejacketnation #communitypartners #HealthScienceCareers
